Question Web Usage -- What's normal?

I recently was on satellite (DSL down again). While there we were thrust into FAP (Fair Access Policy), which dropped our upload/download/ping to about silch.nothing due to higher than normal usage. So can anyone tell me what would be considered "normal" usage? The FAP is set at 375 MB/day. Hard to believe I exceeded that. I started running 'csmonitor' yesterday about noon. So far after about 18 hours it looks like about 107 MB. So I don't see how I managed to exceed the 'normal' usage (twice). Were hit once which caused a 24 hour slowdown and as soon as it was lifted we exceeded it again (about 12 hours) and forced into another 24 hour slow down. DSL back up now (but very unstable) so I don't really have a slow down problem now but I sure would like to know how I can avoid that trap again.

Any thoughts?
