FireFox has an add-on (Foxmarks) that automatically backs up your tabs to an outside server and also provides a synchronization ability so that if you have more than one computer, all the tabs can be synchronized to appear exactly the same on every computer - and every update of a tab appears on all computers even though it was updated on one computer only. I have used it for about 6 months now since I last lost all my tabs in a previous debacle (similar to yours).
Try FireFox .... Only if you dare ....

Then when you lose the tabs simply reinstall the ones you had before (that is if you took a moment to back them up).

Just found out how to do it Walt

When i uninstalled ie8 it reverted back to ie7 and i had them all again

I have just received a Partner Disk with the latest on it - might as well let it run and see what happens - if it is s hite I still have FireFox and Opera.
