Post New Monitor question

I have recently just bought an LG Widescreen TFT monitor. 2 problems:

1. How do i get the quality to be the same as CRT monitors? There's something wrong with the pixels.

2. Should i have a dark background or a bright background? (To save electricity)

3. What is TST Member, it is written under my account name.

Hi Ali
1) Go to the display control panel by right clicking on your desktop (not on an icon) -> properties -> settings. Set the colour quality to 32 bit and adjust the screen resolution to suit your preferences.
2) I don't think it will make any difference to energy consumption whether you set it to light or dark.
3) Shows your TST status according to how many posts you have made.

Thank you for your reply Albert. I have done what you said, but i dont have a 32bit, its a 24bit instead, however the quality has improved. Thanks.

Hi Ali
you ay need to reinstall the drivers for the graphics card - if you look at the properties box and look at the display line it should say something like <monitor name> on <graphics card name> - if there is nothing showing for the graphics card then the drivers should be reinstalled.

Looking at his computer specifications , I am surprised it can run a wide screen monitor, especially as it only has a 24bit colour quality.
If he install PCWizard2009 CPUID he will be able to find out what powers his graphics, and can then search for updated drivers.

If the quality has improved to your satisfaction then there is no need to update the drivers.
