Hey guys i got a 19 inch monitor a few months ago, after christmas i think, and all of my games and apps were running fine on 1440x900. I bought an ATI 4850 recently and now 1440x900 doesn't seem to fit anymore i have to use either 1280x960 or 1600x1200, using 1440x900 would leave a black space on the right hand side of the picture, what gives?

Hi Scippi
1 - make sure you have the right set of drivers installed and the latest release.
2 - make sure the old drivers are uninstalled
3 - the GPU output will be different to the old one so you will need to reset the resolution to match the output to the monitor. If you have black spaces round the edges you have the resolution ratio wrong - set it to max and then bring it in if the contents are too small.

drivers are sorted, yeahh current res is 1600x1200 but i prefer 1440x900. Also all of my ratios are automatic, changing em to 16:10 doesnt help |

16:9 would be the one I would expect to fill the screen - this is what I have on mine (1600 x 900) and I am more content with it.

I can change the ratio to 4:3 16:9 or 16:10 on my games but on the monitor settings i only get 16:10 and 4:3 so i just thought 16:10 would be suitable, still doesnt explain why 1440x900 is different though lol |

1600:900 is obviously 16:9 so your aspect ratio must be different! Not come across that before!

What do you mean by picking my monitor BM? If you mean choosing between monitor 1 and 2 then i've always selected 1
