Radeon 9250

Turned on my pc today and the monitor wouldnt work
no signal

Tried the standard monitor plug on board graphics and it works so can i assume my Radeon card has died

Remove, clean, and re-seat it.

Tried that Rik its not having any of it

As soon as the monitor comes on it goes off with a no signal

Plug in the onboard and its ok

The only sure test is to try it on another board - it could be your socket that has failed.
Or - maybe have you been messing with the settings in the BIOS? Try resetting it to default to see if that cures it - would not be the first time.

my friends know about my pc

Someone had moved it to get to the cupboard behind
I think they knocked it loose
It is held in place with a match i lost the screw when i hoovered it out

I have refit it and found a screw but still the same

I had this problem with this card a while back
Left it out for a few days popped it back and it came to life

I think i will leave it today and try again tomorrow
I don't like the idea of resetting my CMOS Rik I'm scared

Tried it again and its dead

Now is this why my pc is runing so slowly as im using the onboard graphics ??

Seems very sluggish

Your on-board is unlikely to have the same amount of memory as the card you have taken out so this might explain the slug like performance. You could see if there is a way of allocating more memory - go into the BIOS where you will find an option to do this but beware as this will use up some of your system memory!

Onboard graphics use some of your system memory and are therefore slower than a plugin card that has it's own memory.

They also tend to be less powerful chipsets too.
