Black Screens with the Asus EN Gforce8600 GTS

I upgraded my hardware a little with a new graphics card the gforce8600 GTS. It was not the best but in theory a card I could live with and not lose an entire finacial leg completely by purchasing it.

Some games like Medal Of Honour, Battlefield 2142, Stalker run fine on this card. Not perfect on maxed out settings but playable and more then I was used too anyway. But it turned out games like e.g. World In Conflict, Code of Honor The French Foreign Legion cause black screens with this graphics card. That means after playing about 5 or 30 minutes the screen goes black. The sounds after that will hang and you have a system crash that won't end. Pretty bad considering both products are recently produced.

I thought I partly solved the problem by reinstalling the drivers of the graphics card and replace it with "ForceWare Release 163 WHQL Certified" via:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Rumors where heard about a patch for World In Conflict being released next week. I truly hope they will solve the black screen problem with that patch. Because the black screens are still there with me and the Asus EN8600 GTS.

Firstly you need to delete your old Video Card Installation Then Find the History and clear it install your "New" Video Card then let it stay off for about 2 day or if you cant ber it then at least 5Hours before restarting it so the computer is used to it you have to check if it is the right one that is installed by going to: Control Panel - System - Harware - Device Manager - Display Drivers.

Thanks again

drivers

Your drivers could have issues, as new drivers normally do, Try downgrading your drivers to the previous stable drivers. Just becasue they are the latest drivers, doesn't mean they are better, they maybe better for some cards, but possibly not yours. So just downgrade your drivers and see if that works. Hope this helps

I know this is an old thread, but, in the hope that the original poster will get an email i will offer a little advice.

Drivers are the obvious thing to blame but, there is one other thing that could play a part in the problem described, your PSU (power supply unit).
It may be worth upgrading it if you still experience problems.
