1. supress the 'Chrome-ID'
Google Chrome saves the unique browser-ID in the file 'Local State'. this file is to be found in
Vista - "%LOCALAPPDATA%\ Google\ Chrome\ User Data"
XP - "%USERPROFILE%\ Local Settings\ Application Data\ Google\ Chrome\ User Data"
first, create a backup of this file then open in an editor (e.g. Notepad) and delete the values for the following entries:
"client_id" and "client_id_timestamp"
they should look like this now:
"client_id": "",
"client_id_timestamp": "",
save the file and right click on it, select properties and set the attributes to 'read only'.
upon the next start, Google Chrome will create a file called "Local State.tmp". repeat all of the above steps with this new file and Google Chrome will eventually give in.
