The
New Tutorial image is located in the upper and bottom left corner of our
Tutorials page. Just simply click this when you wish to post a New Tutorial. Below is an image showing the
New Tutorial image.
Once you've clicked the New Tutorial Image, you will be presented with a number of options. Below, I will list these options and what they mean.
1. Header Image - A Header Image is a small picture for your tutorial. Basically, to show what the tutorial is about. You may choose to use an image that is already in our gallery, or you may upload your own. To do this, simply click
Browse and upload your own image.
2. Options - Firstly, you will need to give your tutorial title. Remember to keep it short, but descriptive. Below that, you can type your
full name in the byline box (optional). Finally, you can also input a synopsis. This is just a brief outview of your tutorial, an extract or a summary.
3. Write your Tutorial! - Now, it's time to write your tutorial out. If you're a regular, or you know the forum software well, then it's just like posting in the forums. Just type in your Tutorial in the white text box, using any BBcode if you wish. Once you have it typed out, we recommend you first
Preview your post, by clicking
Preview Post button. If everything looks good, then just hit
Submit New Tutorial button, where you Tutorial will become live and others will be able to see and reply to it.
Tips for using our Tutorials section: Here are a few tips for using our Tutorials section. Rate a Tutorial:
There are two ways for this;
1. In a Tutorial, you will see a "Rating" drop down menu. There are 5 options, ranging from
Terrible to
Excellent. Simply check your option, then press the
Vote Now button.
2. The second way, is to vote in the poll, which can be seen at the top of every tutorial. Again, just select your option, then hit the
Vote Now button.
Search:
Before submitting a Tutorial into our database, we ask that you first spend a few minutes searching, just incase there is already a Tutorial for whatever you want to do. You will also probably use the search feature for searching for a particular Tutorial to help you. To search for a particular Tutorial, you will need to be at the
main Tutorials page. Now, select
Search this Category, which will bring a drop down menu. (See image
#1 below). Now, select if you want the results to
Show Tutorials or
Show Posts. Then, type in the word or phrase you are searching for and click
Go. If you're already in a Tutorial, then you may search inside that Tutorial, for something that may have been mentioned by another member. Just input a keyword, then select
Go. (See image
#2).
