Use Unlocker To Eject Unresponsive USB Devices

.

Sometimes using the Windows Safely Remove Hardware function to disconnect a flash or external drive doesn’t want to work. Windows will announce that "The device cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later" Well I have searched and found a way to use Unlocker to deal with this problem.

First you need to have Unlocker installed.

Step 1

Go to My Computer and right click on the icon for the drive you want to disconnect then click the Unlocker entry in the context menu

Step 2

Once you get the Unlocker dialog with the locking processes outlined, click on Unlock All

Important Step 3

Go back to the Safely Remove Hardware dialog in the system tray and use it as normal.
