Hi my hard drive has recently became unusable. Everytime i plug it into my computer the red light is lit up and the hard drive is not recognized by my computer. The blue light would light up intermittently and then goes off almost instantly.Sometimes if i plug the secondary type B connector in first the hard drive would flash red and blue constantly. Then if i disconnect the secondary connector and plug in the primary one it there would be a slight chance that the light would stay blue(mount successfully?) and i would be able to see my hard drive in safely hardware removal. Is this a serious problem? Is there anything i can do to fix the problem? Do you guys reckon this is more of a cable problem than hard drive?

If you have access to a secondary PC or laptop, try connecting your drive to it using a different USB cable. Also try unplugging your drive from the power outlet for a few seconds and then connecting it again.

Might be an idea to try another power lead

You mean a different cable? i've already tried my dad's hard drive's cable but it didn't work lol. I'm not sure whether it's because his is WD and mine is Toshiba. I've also tried plugging both connectors in and still didn't work
