Hi all. I realise this has probably been hashed and rehashed several times already, but I honestly couldn't find anything of use in the "search" to help me.
I bought new "ASUS Pro50 Series" laptop a month ago. It uses Realtek High Def for sound.
It (the sound) works fine...until I do anything online. It doesn't matter whether it's a CD, MP3's, DiVX movie from hard-drive, or a DVD from disc. They ALL end up distorting/cracking/popping, and even lagging, when I do anything online.
The drivers are updated to the latest (v6.0.1.5543), and I've made sure that everything else is clean and updated as well.
I've hunted all over the place for answers, but to no avail. DMA is enabled. I've even tweaked Winamp to various prescribed settings, but it's not local to Winamp either. It happens with every media program I use. This leads me to believe it could be somekind of hardware conflict. I've even had it suggested that I should do something with the BIOS, but I REALLY don't know what I'm doing with that kind of thing...and don't want to permanently mess my computer up.
Well, enough of the rant. It's over to you
Oh yeah, I'm running Vista (if it makes any difference)
