Linksys WAG200G Wireless-G ADSL2+ Router

This is a review I wrote (posted on Ebuyer) for a Linksys WAG200G router (technically two) that I had recently:

I'd like to start by saying that this is a brilliant router and that I'd recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately I can't say that. We bought one of these routers and set it up (it took about 1.5 hours to get going and this isn't, by far, my first time doing this) and then it went well for about 2 days. After that it disconnected from the Internet so i tried to get it to connect again but it refused to connect or even acknowledge that a DSL connection was possible.

After going round in a circle for about 3 hours, I decided to send it back. The RMA process was excellent - first time I've had to return an item to Ebuyer and it went very smoothly and quickly. I got an email saying that the returned item was tested faulty and that a new one had been dispatched. Unfortunately, though, I've had exactly the same problem on the second router. It will not connect no matter what I try - the settings are the same as on our old router - so I have decided to go back to using our old router.

Overall, very disappointed with this product. What are the chances of having 2 faulty products in a row? I have sent this replacement back to be refunded and I will not be buying another router from what I thought was a reputable and reliable brand.

Thanks for the info. Do you have a suggestion for another brand? We will probably be buying one sometime soon.

Not the cheapest, but Draytek equipment I would recommend to anybody. I have a Vigor 2600 VG ADSL wireless modem router - it just sits there and does what it is supposed to do without fuss. Some of the security options are way over my needs but the signal is strong. Other ADSL kit I would recommend is by Zyxel - always worked first time out of the box.
