Producer:Adobe Created:Approx.April 2007 What is it?
This program is like photoshop but is a vector editing, while photoshop does Bitmap Graphics.
A much newer edition to the fireworks before it but awfully like adobe illustrator.
The program is almost like paint as well but more advanced tools like smudging tool,burning,warping etc...
Unless youre familiar with these sought of programs it may take awhile to understand it and use it to its greatest results.with this program you can warp, enchant, blur your pictures in many many ways! Would i want it?
It depends, this program has the same abilities as photoshop etc...
It all relies on how patient you are, as this program makes your pictures manually by you.
If you are patient and like your work exactly the way you want it by the slightest of detail then this is suitable for you.
If not then dont count on it, unless you give it a try. How much is it?
Its free to try for a 30 day period I dont think this program is for me....Is there any other program?
Yes there is photoshop but is not free, unless you have a friend who wil install it for you.
And there is GIMP 2 which is like fireworks and photoshop.
The only differences with GIMP is...
1.)Its free
2.)Its more automatic editing than manually produced by you. I want it! Where can i get it?
This following website has been scanned by me for any viruses etc... and have found none
Fireworks 8[/url:1meugqy0] Ive got it, But i dont understand it
Here are some useful tutorials

This program will be 100% spyware-free so long as you download it straight from Adobe. Otherwise, you can expect to find all kinda of unwanted stuff in there :@

I am not sure how to use this application. Even though I did have a copy a very long time ago - I tried this on Vista and it worked for so long before it stopped opening. I thought maybe it was the application, Uninstalled and re-installed and still the same issue.
Formatted the PC and it worked and then stopped again! Maybe it has been fixed?

I used it for web design at work experience (as well as Photoshop), the actual web designer used Photoshop, doesn't seem to be that much of a difference, however most of the other guys like to use it because it is a bit simpler/faster for web design, but if i were to get into web design seriously either would be fine.
wow my bad just realized i posted on an almost year old thread |

I've used it when I was student designing my webpages projects... I like its handy tools incorporated in dreamweaver but I switched to photoshop as I needed much powerful tools....
this is for easy photo edition I must conclude |

If you have used Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop, you should feel comfortable with Fireworks 8, but there is a lot more to learn. The best way to learn Fireworks 8 is to jump in and get your feet wet. You should be able to learn the main features over a weekend.
Pros
* Improved work flow with other Macromedia programs
* Snap open-and-shut palettes
* New effects
* Imports more file types
Cons
* The complicated interface can make Fireworks 8 hard for newcomers to learn
