Just tried this and found a bunch of empty folders from software I had uninstalled long ago. Very useful but use with care. jonasjohn.de: remove empty directories (freeware for windows) Quote: |
RED searches and deletes empty directories recursively below a given start folder and shows the result in a well arranged tree. Further you can create some custom rules for keeping and deleting folders. Empty files in directories can also be ignored. Just try RED to see the other features - no registry keys or system files will be touched.

I would love to use this EF as I reckon I would have 100's of empty directories to get rid of but having a look at the screenshots I dont know if it makes alot of sense to me.Any chance of some advice on what buttons to be clicking on to get rid of the empty directories?

I went through the list it produced and just removed what I knew shouldn't be there, like old folders or files left from uninstalls. There was a lot that I just left alone.

You will notice when you select Protect folder (everytime) on the settings page under Ignore these folders the file path has been added to that list.
