Ok thanks. I'm still a little unclear about the post or collection thing in my last post.
| I was offering to stick them in the back of the heap and meet you in the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) which is about halfway between Telford and here.
I am keen to get these out of my small workshop and could do this tomorrow if we can get ourselves organised!

Reason: Merged posts and put in quote so it's not confusing

I'm not sure I'd be able to collect one tomorrow, I am busy. I'll check when I can.

Reason: Removed unnecessary quote. There is no need to quote the post above your own as it clear who/what you are replying to. Thanks

I have just really wasted your time. A few things have popped up and I am unable to collect it, Sorry. It's really annoying, I know, but I can't help it.

No worries - I guess they will all end up at the tip! Still it was worth trying to recycle them as they were quite nice cases.

Yeah thanks for the heads up on that one Jason, I'd have been interested, but sadly i live a little too far away, its not worth it to me by the time ive done with petrol costs etc, and as i keep complaining about i just don't seem to have the time of day to fit other stuff in at the moment lol.
To be honest, due to the ammount of projects ive currently got going, i'm a little short on space aswell, my garage top is FULL of all sorts of stuff for projects, and theres a fair ammount of stuff around my work bench etc, to be honest its a pain already.
It is ashame that someone interested in trying their hand at modding couldn't collect them and give it ago, when stuff is for free, you don't have alot to loose and the experience of it could go along way.

Well I have just been given another one! The panic trying to get rid of them on Saturday went by the board so they are all still here - total now is
5 'fat' cases as per picture
2 mini towers
1 desktop.
And they all go to the great skip in the sky in a couple of days unless someone shouts!
I am still prepared to drive up to say 50 miles from Mi/M6 junction at Rugby to meet someone as the bulk of this stuff is still too go to chuck out.
Cheers

I'd love to have a case for a bit of modding practice but unfortunately I don't have the time, space or money to do anything :frown:
I'm trying to save as much money as I can as I have my driving test a week tomorrow and am looking into cars As for time, I always seem to be at work and there's nowhere in my room to put a PC case - I have a little project I want to work on that involves some speakers, and that's been sat around for a bit

I'd be interested in at least one of these cases.
However, I wouldn't be able to collect, it would have to be delivered.
But, as you say, there beasty, so will be pricey.

If the motherboards, power suppllies etc were all stripped, i'd estimate £15 parcelforce 48 hour.
Though to be honest, packing needs to be good, ive had far too many cases arrive from people that have been seriously damaged in transit, and on the rare occassion, some of my custom work has been damaged too, just to think of the hours and money spent on some of those, and for them to go to ruin, at least this has only happend a couple of times, and not for some time now
Just a warning though, if not packed pretty well, expect them to deliver a case thats out of shape. Ive even had a couple of servers arrived smashed too, though i can rectify alot of faults that occour in transit, its not nice to open the box and to find its had some hammer in transit.

Maybe it would be better to use a different company - Albert says he knows the CEO or MD or something of Parcelforce and says they aren't very good. DHL and UPS seem to be the favourites I think.
I've never had any problems with Parcelforce myself, but from what others say they aren't so great the rest of the time.

OK - its the custard moment. These things go to the tip tomorrow. Sorry, but I really cannot go on falling over these things all day. Speak up or forever hold thy peace.

Silence. So mourn these sad little boxes, for they have given their lives to stand service under the office desk; to be kicked and abused by the merciless feet of the office baggage. They go to a better place as in the hands of the scratters at the tip they will be reincarnated to serve again. Their hearts beat no more as I ripped the drives out to stop the data bandits of West Africa getting them. Somebody loved them once when shiny new and oh so fast. Blessed is the user of Windows 95 for they shall be totally screwed by the jump to Vista.
Amen.
