If I'm being honest, I think it's ok where it is.

He was only giving you a guide, so there's no need for a new thread just for the above pictures.

Regards Jason

Plus.. dano, any luck on the cpu upgrade?
As Jason said, don't worry about moving any of it anytime soon, its fine, when i can be bothered and get time i'll open a new thread for the xbox CPU and RAM upgrade.

Other than that the rough guide for the moulding work ive posted can stay here unless someone wishes to seperate it as a rough guide, though i'm not too worried, others can find it here just as anyone else thats viewed will have.

Oh and on the CPU upgrade, it dates back a while, ive just not had the luxury of time to work on it for quite some time, and thats on the back burner as it is, ive got far more projects to complete before i eventually get round to having a look at that. But hopefully one day it'll live

Only one other guy, after i started the project, managed to get the 1GHZ chip to work, so if i do it aswell and get it reliable, i'll be the 2nd in the world for the 1ghz chip.

A company in the US did the dreamx which was a 1.4GHZ replacement though it was more like a celeron chip they used, and after alot of research on it, i don't think its quite as good as people first thought, and was soon discontinued, which basically says it all.

It would be great to have the 1GHZ power for XBMC though, anyone who has home theater and what not, i'd recommend an xbox with XBMC every day of the week, what a media center it can soon become, for those that don't know about it, google XBMC, you'll be amazed.

Well I reckon it would be tricky mate, as you'd have to work out some sort of connection like the bit on the right for all the wires to go to. You would have to get the sockets that you need (USB, line out etc) and then produce a mask of the PCB (basically a picture of how you want it all to go) and get that produced and work out how you'll connect all the things to the motherboard.

What I think would be an easier thing to do, albeit possibly a bit messier (i.e. wires all about the place - although you can cable tie them together) is use the front audio panel circuit from an old PC for the headphone and microphone sockets, and use extension leads for the USB, Firewire etc, coming from PCI cards if you need the extra sockets without losing any of your built in ones. Then you would simply have to find a way of attaching the ends of the cables to the metal piece that you've got for them all to go to. Hopefully that wouldn't be too hard, because if you put the wires through from that end, then the female ends may fit nicely inside the holes and hold themselves there.

All right, Thanks for the tip, Daveskater.

I guess I have to design my own pcb first and map it out. Thanks again.

Edit: Sorry again, what program can I make my own PCB? ExpressPCB is not easy for me, plus it is missing a lots of components that i need.

Look up Electronics Workbench software - they have one that you can design PCB's on, but I can't remember what it's called.
