How do you feel about Overclocking a PC?

Hello there

I was thinking about overclocking my PC, but thought it would be a good Idea to see what other techs think about doing so.

There are many considerations before doing this - some are
1 - do you mind if you ruin the motherboard?
2 - can you afford to ruin the motherboard?
3 - do you have the manual for the motherboard?
4 - do you have a spare computer - you may need it to download patches and seek advice?
5 - is the cooling in the system top spec?
6 - is it worth it - will the small performance increase be worth doing instead of maybe buying a new board?

I don't overclock for the same reason I don't race my car. I can't afford it.

Thread moved to more appropriate forum.

I haven't overclocked my PC at all mainly because I think it's fine as it is after having my old one for so long. It's actually better than my work one as well so it always feels fast

See this thread that was quite frankly written by a genius : First time Overclocker? Read this first.
