Hey guys erm my problem isn't very complicated and i don't need it sorted urgently but anyhow it's still annoying :P
Ok everytime i connect my webcam to the comp and leave my comp on for about an hour it'll crash to a blue screen saying USB_Bugcode something :P, but then when i disconnect the webcam then everything is back to normal, so it's definitely the webcam or the driver. Here's what i did
1/ Being a boob, lost my CD
2/Look for the driver on the internet
3/Webcam works, the built in mic didn't so i installed that driver over and over again
4/Found the disk, uninstall the driver and install the one from the disk
5/Still doesn't work, now i'm chewing on my webcam and typing this |

Maybe because you chew on the cam
What version of Windows do you have?
Also, did you uninstall the drivers before installing new ones?

Ok, did you try uninstalling the drivers, restarting the computer, and then installing them again? Sometimes that helps.
If you can post a minidump from a crash caused by the camera, I can have a closer look at that for you.

Have you always had this problem with this particular webcam?
If not, when did the problem first occur?
If you are running Windows XP SP1 you should upgrade to at least SP2.

Yes i do have XP SP2
And i haven't had any problems with other webcams in the past, and the first blue screen i had from this webcam was like 2 and a half months ago, i think :P
Unfortunately my other webcams are broke (due to the constant chewing hehe ) so i can't test to see if it's particularly this one that's going dodgy or if it's a software problem

Mmm, it`s beginning to sound like the webcam itself that might be the culprit.
Obviously the only way to test that out is to try the webcam on another system and see if the same problem occurs.

It really would help to know what the BSOD says Quote:
First off, note down all relevant information when you see a BSOD flash across the screen. This includes the error number and friendly name from the 'bugcheck' section of the stop error (see above), and any file names specified in the 'driver information' section.
If the BSOD comes up on the screen for a split-second before the PC restarts and wipes all the useful information away, we need to change some settings within WinXP. In most cases, it should be possible to stop your PC from automatically restarting when it develops a major error, allowing you enough time to jot down the BSOD error message. If you are using WindowsXP, right click on my computer > Properties > Select the 'Advanced' tab > and under 'startup and recovery' click the 'settings' button. This will open a new window, and under the 'System Failure' heading, uncheck 'Automatically restart.

Did you test the webcam on your brothers system as you said you`d try to do? If so, what happened?
Can you post the minidump file?
You can find your minidumps in the following directory. C:\windows\minidump. Minidump files have a .dmp extension. Quote:
Start your new posting at TST by clicking on the New Thread button
(or use Post Reply in an existing thread).
Scroll down until you see a button Manage Attachments. Click on that and a popup-window opens.
Click on the Browse button, find the minidump file you wish to attach on your PC and doubleclick on it.
Now click on the Upload button in the popup. When done, click on the Close this window button.
Finish your message-text, then click on Submit Message.
