What do you use and why?
I have a 19 inch dell CRT as it cost me a tenner and the picture quality is very good.

I use a 22" Acer V223W LCD which I bought when my previous 17" LCD stopped working. Picture quality is really good, but nothing amazing. I'm happy with it though

I have a 17" dell lcd screen and a dell 17" crt. I really want to get a 22" acer lcd though. Only $230 on newegg.com.
I personally think the lcd screens look much better than the crt screens.

I must admit to being a bit of a fan of the old CRT's, it seems to me that you have to spend quite a bit to get a flat panel that is as quick as its equivalent CRT.
I have seen a brand new 19inch CRT in a shop in London for £40, thats hard to beat.

I have a Packard Bell 15" CRT (I think it's 15, may be more ) that I got given when a friend moved house, and they didn't need it any more. Hoping to get a 19" widescreen one at some point

I use a samsung 26" LCD TV - Resolution 1366x768, 5000:1 contrast, 3ms response time
I need the high contrast for graphic design
Looking to upgrade to a 32" Panasonic - Resolution 1920x1080, 30000:1 contrast, 0.001ms response time (probably will be in next few months)
There are no CRT's which could produce anywhere near this kind of quality. You say LCD's are expensive there not just CRT's are cheap and low quality.
Only problem with using LCD TV's as monitors instead of just a LCD monitor is they all use VGA, I haven't seen one which uses DVI yet. But you get HDMI etc |

I have a LG Flatron 17", it is over 3 years old now and has been a great monitor.
For testing I have a 17" Dell monitor that was given to me when a friend upgraded to a 19" TFT, and that one works well, although it is 7 year old.
I prefer the TFT because it is a terrific picture and takes up a lot less space than a CRT.

I have 3 screens, all V7 17" TFTs. Bit slow but as I don't game I'm not bothered.
Once you have used more than one screen, you feel lost with just one!

Asus VW192G 19" widescreen lcd.
I got it a couple of weeks ago to replace my old 17" crt.
I love it and it looks really good. I especially like the 1440x900 resolution and the screen real estate it gives me.

My dad's Dell LCD is 1440x900, there really is a lot of room on that screen, which is why I want one the same size hehe.
