What is the best way to clean a screen?

A none abrasive cloth dampened with water should do the trick, then a dry none abrasive cloth to wipe it over should be all you need.
I don`t recommend using any chemicals on an lcd/tft screen.

If you have any stubborn finger prints or other marks, Malt vinegar on a soft cloth will work well and wont harm the screen (provided you don't use too much that is).
Also, the dvi - vga discussion.
The main thing i have noticed in practical application is that with dvi, because of its digital nature, you can use a much much longer cable than you can with the analog vga system.
The shorter your vga cable is, the better the picture. I tend to cut the cable down as short as i can. It does make a difference.
With dvi you can have a cable 4 or 5 times longer with no signal loss in comparison to vga.

Most computer and office supply places have the right cleaners and cloths and these surfaces are too easily ruined so I don't mess around as I have seen what they look like in customer homes too often with home made solutions!

I used to use a refresh rate of 75Hz, but then changed it back down to 60 because I thought that it was affecting my graphics performance. When I get a proper card in and a new screen, though, I expect it will be a different story

Regards Howard | Actually, 50 to 1 ( 50 % and 50 % ) of distilled water and hydrogen peroxide does excellent job on cleaning any kinds of screens.

That's interesting mate.
However, on my screen, it has a glass cover that has an anti glare coating. I would be loath to use anything that might affect the coating. I once used some glass cleaner on it and the results were terrible. Since then I've only ever used water.

I have laptop Asus A7j.
Also i have 19" SwissTech LCD and i think it is very good for PC but not good for Playstation games because when i insert Playstation 1 games in playstation 2 and it loads intro but after this "No Siginal" But when i connect to 15" Panasonic CRT TV and it works well for me. Well i got say that good ol' CRT work best than LCD.

Cuz Panasonic are about the best brand out there...where as SwissTech...Well ive never hurd of them...the swisstech clealy has a poor refresh rate or low resolution (more likley the refresh rate tho).
A panasonic LCD vs panasonic CRT... LCD would win....

The panels and picture engines are from arse... really (atleast compared to Full-HD Sonys and Pioneers, but the Panasonics are cheaper too...)
I have a Hp lappy with 15.4" TFT 1280x800 res
It goes for me, I don't do so much gaming with my lappy

If you want a pricy TV get looking at Bang and Olufsen TV's
A B & O 40inch LCD would set you back £5000-£6000 and that's preowned.
I quite like Mitsubishi TV's. Their current LCD's have a refesh rate of 120Hz along with many other goodies. Something i've not seen in many other brands of TV.

Vieras picture is very dissy compared to the best pioneers in FULL-HD + you can't get the colours just right for some reason
Pioneer make sofar best tv's and in Sony you have to pay most of all just for the brand. Compare the Sonys and Pioneers flagships, the Sony is almost 1000€ more expensive, but still not better (maybe a bit more stylish) Best Sonys and pioneers has 200Hz
I have to deal with these everyday at my work | | | Only registered members can participate in forum threads. You must register or log in to contribute. All times are GMT. The time now is 06:53 AM.
