Printer problem, help needed.

Can you help me with a printer problem? The printer is Lexmark X84-X85. It takes a long time to respond to a print command- some times 10 minutes. It prints ok. Often get the message unable to communicate with the computer. Any suggestions?

I have moved your post to it's own thread.

First off, we need to know a little more about your computer.

What version of windows are you using?
Is the printer the only thing that you are having problems with or is any other software\hardware running slow or reacting oddly?

Is the printer connected via usb? Or via the printer port?

Seeing as you have a dell, do you also have Norton?

That is not a new printer, I would bet it needs a new cable.
