As anyone come across this before - I have a machine in the wksps which refuses to POST and despite my best efforts and replacement parts nothing seems to work.
The thing stinks of nicotine and looking at the components I see that they are all covered in a layer of brown foul smelling gunge.
I can only conclude that this thing died of nicotine poisoning.
Yeuch!

I really doubt it. But I do remember the days before sealed hard drives
when a smoke particle was to a flying head like a car driving over a
telephone pole...CRASH!!!!!
Now, that said, I have seen extreme dust buildup cause shorts because of the
metal particles in the dust. Most times a good blowing out would be the solution.
Good luck.
(spread a few pieces of nicorette gun inside the unit. )

Hi Gunner - I am not going to touch this disgusting thing any more than I have to! I am going to BER it.
I took the drive out and scanned it - guess what - backdoor trojan in the boot sector.. Say no more.

I went to clean an individuals desktop some time ago. When I took the case
off all these roaches came out running all over the place. I threw the case back
on with one screw and was leaving. She offered me twice the 50 bucks I was
going to change. I said thanks, but no thanks. Totally ridiculous.
Now that was a real buggy system. |

Henry's schnozzle will cope with spiders up to 1 inch across the body and up to 5 inch legs. Go on, try it!
