Hello there

I just started having my mouse pointer pause for a few second. not sure why this is happening on a new computer. I am running Windows Vista 32bit.

Is there a lot of hard drive activity Paul

Have you run antivirus and spyware scans?

Try leaving the Task Manager processes window open on the desktop so you can see if a particular process is grabbing the CPU during the freeze.

Mine does that when the battery gets low, as well.

Even if it's wired, take the cable out of the socket and put it back in again as sometimes they fall out a bit and don't make a good connection.
