Running memtest on an almost new Tosh Equium 'cos it kept falling over and it is failing on INVC, MATS+, WMATYS+ and WINVC - anyone any idea which memory element is kaput here? I have a feeling it is the cache but need some input please!
cheers

Have you had any errors?

Hi Rik
heaps of them - as above on the INVC, MATS+, WMATYS+ and WINVC tests.
I got round it by finding one of the SODIMMS was faulty and rebooted on just the one.
After reinstalling the OS beccause it was also riddled with trojans the thing is running happily now.

Did the timings on both dimms match?

Looks like a replacement is in order then. I fixed a pc with a ram error yesterday, easiest fix ever, i just had to remove then re-fit the ram and all was well.

This one was not so easy - and there comes a time in any repair when you have to stop messing about and just fit replacement parts/re-install windows because it is cheaper in the long run.
