It all depends on what your system will be running. Are you a gamer, or do you just browse the net ect..? If the latter, then yes it would be ok.

Could you list the system specs to the system you will be using this PSU for.

Celeron 346 3.06ghz LGA775
1x WD 160gb HDD
Startech 775 HSF
P4M900M2-L
Netgear 54mbps internet adaptor
PNY 8400GS
2GB ddr2 RAM
In the future I will have an 8600GT and an E2200 C2D, will it work with that?

Are you using the 256mb or 512mb 8400GS? For the 512mb, the minimum is 300watts PSU and 18amps on +12v rail.

It should be enough, but you will need to make sure that the PSU in that system is at least 18 amps on the +12v rail.

Personally, I`d suggest a quality psu of around 450watts minimum.
Take a look HERE for info.
You might also find this PSU Calculator of use.

I would go for a higher wattage one as well mate, 450W like Howard said sounds like it would be alright, as long as you have enough current on the +12V rail(s).

Yes, I believe most people would go for an higher one, just to be safe. However, I was giving the minimum requirements.
I think the PSU calculator is good. I purchased it for $9.99 - lifetime limited access!

The calculator says 194w. Is this alright with 350w?

The calculator is pretty good, but I think you should find the specs of an 8600GT and see what it recommends as the minimum power of a PSU, then you will want more than that. If an 8600GT wants 300W, for example, then I'd get at least 400W. Newegg is usually a good site for this, I think. If I remember rightly, anyway It might only say on a few of the models, but it should be on there.
Also the 8 series cards need quite a lot of current so definitely check that the PSU has enough of it to give the card. You should be able to find the current requirements on Newegg as well. nVidia are a bit rubbish at putting those sorts of specs on their site.
If you don't want to use Newegg then Ebuyer might have the specs on as well

Ok. Just wondering because I need a new case and my PSU is dying, and it would be a good combo. Are there any other cheap cubes about?

I have one of these and although it has never been used for games it is used as a server occasionally and gives no trouble. Very quiet.
As I don't have much use for it I was thinking of selling it. Hum.

I think you should stick with Celeron, because they runs at high frequency than E2200. Or maybe you need to consider about E4300 ?
and for video card, as long as your motherboard have PCI-E then yes.

The E2200 is a dual core and my celeron is not, that's why I chose it.

Actually the number of cores don't matter at this moment, your celeron is fast enough for a while. |
