I seem to be beset by idiots.
I submitted a request for an RMA for the PSU that cooked itself last week. The reply came from the USA with a whinge that I was in the wrong country. No offer to forward the application to the right place or where I should send it. Opinions of Antec now plummeting as the new PSU I bought to replace this one is noisy and sounds like a diesel before it has warmed up. I have organised a replacment - is this a record: 3 Antec PSU's in a week?

That is indeed probably a world record I have tried to get in contact with Antec before now and I really don't like them anymore. Customer services are terrible. I tried when I had a case fan and the screws didn't fit

If this kept up, I strongly advise you to try other reputable psu manufacturer instead Antec; such as Enermax ( my favorite ), OCZ, C&M and few more |

Was it one of those that require a certain PSU to use it?

This made me laugh.
No, as long as it is not slim computer, or micro atx or whatever than regular or mid ATX.

The saga rolls on. Antec Holland said that as I was a reseller I could return the PSU to their agent in Telford (no names this time as I don't want to be sued!). In return for handling the PSU they wanted me to sign up a new trading account with them and this included all sorts of commercial information and personal details, plus guarantees etc. I told them to stuff it up the proverbials and threatened to visit all sorts of nastyness upon their sad and stupid heads in the form of ballista flung lumps of chicken ordure.
Didn't do any good so I am shipping the thing off to Holland tomorrow.
So - Antec kit is by and large good but warranty support is sh*te. Deep sh*te.

Too bl**dy right. I'm fed up with it!
Edit: A light! A light in the darkness!
An email just flooded in with a helpful note from Holland about the RMA. Perhaps they watch this forum.......

It really is totally unacceptable you should be having this trouble with what is supposed to be a reputable company.
If at all possible, I think you should consider writing(not emailing) to the managing director, outlining the problems you`ve been Having.

You are right, Howard but the practicalities of this are that there is no UK presence to write to and Holland is another country. Maybe not buy Antec any more....

I've already given up on antec... for instance, a case fan I bought, meant to be 'whisper quiet' (33dba is a little louder) had totally the wrong screws. I got more and they didn't fit. I'm sick of messing with them.

33dbA is certainly not "whisper quiet"
I thought that under about 22dbA was considered quiet or silent, off the top of my head.

Something like that. I'm getting a 19dba cooler soon so I'll see then
