LAN Problem

We have a home LAN with 2 desktops [xp] and a loptop [Vista] using a D-Link DIR-635 wirless router.
Windows has just been re-installed in one of the desktops and I am unable to establish contact with the other computers.
The message Workgroup is not accessible. You might notb have permission to use this network resourse. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
List of servers for this workgroup is not currently available.

Unfortunately, I suppose that I am the administrator and I don't know what I can tell myself to do.
The computer has no problem accessing the internet. Both wireless and ethernet connections have been used with the same result.
Help would be appreciated.

Go into Control Panel > System > Computer Name and change the name of the workgroup on the machine that has just been rebuilt to be the same as the other machines. Also note that if you don't have a shared resource on a machine such as a shared file or printer it may not show up.
Hope this helps!

The workgroup was the same on all computers right from the start. There are shared resourses on all computers.
I forgot to mention that the new computer can be 'seen' and accessed by other computers but it cannot see the others.

This is odd - if it 'sees' the others then usually is can be seen by them too.
If you are using the new machine vie wifi, does it make any difference whether you connect by cable?
Also, try turning off the firewalls on a temporary basis to see if that makes any difference?

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\NetBt\Parameters
In the right pane of Registry Editor, delete the following values if they are present:
NodeType
DhcpNodeType
Note If the NodeType value is present, this value will override the DhcpNodeType value. If neither subkey is present and if no WINS servers are configured for the client, the computer uses b-node mode. If at least one WINS server is configured, the computer uses h-node mode.
Quit Registry Editor.
Restart the computer.
Try to view workgroup computers on the network again.
