Hello all, I'm having a bit of trouble recovering an iTunes playlist.
I made an 85 track list in WMP and imported it to iTunes, but then iTunes decided that none of the files existed, even though they were all in my library. I managed to get it to work, and re-ordered all the songs (when I made it I just went through artists in order) but syncing the list to my iPod became a nightmare as it decided all the files didn't exist again, and when I did get them to work, it had added everything to my library again so there was two of each track on the list.
In the end I decided it wasn't worth it so I exported a track list as a .txt file and deleted the playlist to make it again. Unfortunately, the .txt file has all the tracks listed in order of Artist instead of how I ordered them. I've tried swapping around the "iTunes Library" files in the iTunes folder, but it hasn't brought the list back. All that's happened is my library has been ruined. When I was changing the files around, I used the task manager to end the process so it wouldn't save over the file upon exit.
The last thing I can think of is trying a system restore, but I'm not sure if it will work.
This may be a bit long winded, but I've tired to describe my problem as best I can and hopefully somebody can help me get my playlist back, as I don't remember how i ordered all the tracks.
Any replies and help much appreciated, I just want my playlist back
Thanks for reading.

Your musics should be still able in under " My musics" any where inside that folder.
You can import the folder only and you should recover it all.

I don`t know if a system restore will help, in fact I doubt it will, but it`s worth a shot mate.
If it doesn`t, then it looks like your playlist is lost.

a system restore did help me once with a similar problem but there is no guarantee that it will work on your pc. i would like to say that before you start changing everything, put what you have onto a disc as a back-up just in case then filter on re-installation if it comes to that. hope not tho

You can import the folder only and you should recover it all. | My problem isn't with my library (well, not much anyway), it's that I want to try and recover a playlist that I deleted. Quote: |

| I'm not sure if it'll help either mate, but I've tried everything I can think of other than that. Edit: I won Actually, if I was using Windows XP, then I don't know if I could have gotten this back at all.
Vista has a feature where you can restore files to previous versions, "shadow copies", which I suppose is kind of like a system restore but only for that file. I restored the iTunes Library and iTunes Music Library files back to the same date (the 22nd), and it's restored my library to exactly as it was on that date
Hoorah, and thank goodness for the "Restore previous versions" button

I have been told that the "Restore previous versions" option is NOT available in the Home versions of Vista, so you would have to do a full system restore instead.
