Just for future reference, one of those boxes is always ticked as the one with the tick in it is the device that is being used as the input. If you tick one of the other ones as well, for example Line In, then the Microphone box will untick itself.

In short, "Select" means that that device is selected as the recording input.

Ok cool tyvm everyone,its finally working good.I had to play the the equalizer in my soundmax control for a while to get rid of the tinny sounds but I think I have got it about right now.
