Download this program, set it to convert to a .avi, and also to use the mp3 codec in the settings on the right hand side. As long as the video bitrate etc is set at the same as the current video or more, then it will not affect the video quality. Do remember that if you set it higher than the original video, it will not add any quality, but will create a larger file.

No problem.
Did you get the error when using the program or downloading it?

The only information I can find on that error is that it only happens when outputting MPEG4 files, and was fixed with version 2.60, which was a couple of updates ago.
Do you definitely have it set to output as a .avi file? The drop down menu is in the top right of the screen.
Also, when the error occurs, does the encoding stop immediately?

the encoding doesnt stop immediately. i cancel it myself, and the file i was trying to convert was MP3 format, but video was the problem, it was XWave or something, i might aswell just convert it mpg insted of all this hassel converting to avi.
but if i have avi files which are XVID MPEG4 and AC3 format, will i be able to convert it to .avi??(basically, just converting avi to avi, but changing audio format from ac3 to mp3)?

I don't quite understand the file being encoded as XVID MPEG4, they are two different formats, so it should only be XVID.

If you have any more problems with the software, please post in this thread. I find it easier working problems in the forums and it may help other people. If it's sat in my private message box then it won't help anyone else that may come along.
On a slight side note, I have had to remove all of the quotes from your posts. Please do not quote the last post in a thread unless you wish to highlight a specific part of it, as I did in my last post here. Thank you.

If you've got the vob files but nothing else then get Ifoedit (free download) & this will create the ifo/bup files for you.
Typically this is what you should have in the Video_ts folder:-
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB

Blackmirror is right, just vob files on their own will not play, so use the program she linked to to make your disc play.
I understand that you didn't want to convert the video files, just the audio, I am finding your posts a bit confusing at times.

alih786, there is absolutely no need to keep on quoting the previous post all the time. The quote box is only meant to be used to point out a section of a previous to which you are replying. If you quote the entire post each time all it does is make the thread bigger for no good reason.
Can you please click the reply button rather than the quote button from now on, thank you.
