ive got a 4.44GB mpeg 2 file. i cant burn it into a dvd disk, which is 4.38GB, is there a way to split the 4.44GB mpeg file to 200MB, 300MB,400MB or 500MB etc...?
or is there a way to convert it to something so that this video file can FIT & PLAY in ANY dvd player?

DvdShrink is an excellent bit of software for a job like that, but, it's not free.
You can try it out on a trial basis but there are limits set on it, i forget what they are at the mo.
Have a look - Official DVD SHRINK Latest Version

Are you using any download management software? If so, disable it and try again.
