VHS to DVD question

how do i convert vhs tapes to dvd using my pc??

is there any cables i need?

is there any way to do this without having to install any expansion cards??




any suggestions?

As far as I'm aware, the only way to do this is buy a TV card and plug the VCR in via the RF lead and you should be able to capture it with the software supplied with the card. You can have shops do it for you, though, but I don't know how much the typical charge for this service is.

Another option is purchase a cheap standalone DVD recorder, and play the VHS tapes into the recorder, in the same way you'd copy tape to tape.

Using this method you could also record anything you put into it, not just your tapes.

Point:-

VHS upto 4hours
DVD only 120mins on standard disk

But easiest way is DVD/VCR Combi and will do all the work. You would need a TV card which can be USB or PCI to do it through the PC.

I have a special video Dazzle Video Capture DVC90, It work capturing Freeview video and also capturing video... All the cost for £30 But their software isnt good so i installed freeware programs can FxVideoCapture which is GOOD user friendly and really simple to use it.
