first of all, i download videos from a p2p called ares(like limewire but better). the videos are all .avi. when i view the information, some of them are:

div3
div4
div5
divf
divx MPEG4

the above will not play in my dvd player, instead it comes up with a message saying: wrong file format

my dvd player does play divx movies, but only the normal divx videos, DivX and Xvid, not Divx MPEG4 or div3..etc...


is there a way to convert div3, div4, etc.. to the NORMAL/ORIGINAL DivX so that the videos can play in the dvd player?????????
