Desktop audio

I was wondering if there is a program out there that will play audio on the desktop.

Example.

When I log on I get the usual log on theme BGM or SE but when on the desktop I would like a song to play that plays all the time or loops the album without the need to open up a media player manually, if there is one great, if there is one that plays it starting from clicking on my profile on the log on screen even better.

Do you mean change the Windows sound schemes?

If so:
  • Click the Start button.
  • Click Control Panel.
  • If you are in the Category View, select Switch to Classic View.
  • Click Sound and Audio Devices.
  • Select the Sounds tab.
  • Either change to a new sound scheme, or edit your existing sound scheme.
  • Click OK.

Regards Jason

What I mean is like a startup audio player.

As soon as I logon an audio player automatically starts and plays an album that I set it to.

I hope you know what I mean.

Don`t know if it will work, but couldn`t you create a scheduled task. Click start/all programs/accessories/system tools/scheduled tasks.

You can set the windows sounds so that when you log on it will play a song, but I'm not sure if there are any proper programs that will allow you to play an album after logging on.

You could get a program like WMP to load at startup and then chose what it is you want to listen to, that would let you listen to an album.

Edit: Moved to Multimedia forum.

Assuming Windows XP, Put a shortcut to the file you wish to play in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Your login ID\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.
