Hi Hamas
Personally (and from experience) the only laptop I would buy would be an Acer. I have sold hundreds of them and only ever had one back that was a hardware failure and that was user caused anyway.
Your choice will be dictated by what is available when you are ready to buy - depends when this is but I bet you it will be different from today's choice.

I have bought HP laptops in the past and they have been lacking in quality that an IBM or Acer had. However I'd say withing the past 3 years they have really emerged as a nice piece of equipment and after buying one for a family member I would recommend one!
What do you plan to do with this notebook?

Play games on it, go on the internet, use it more or less everyday.
If you could recomend a better one i would want one that is reliable, fast, stylish (nice design), and value for money at the same time.
Thanks.

As far as I know HP's are pretty good laptops, that one has pretty good specs too.

Thats why i chose it, the games i'm going to play on it are probably going to be played online or downloaded from the internet and then played.
Is the laptop value for money ?

If your going to buy a laptop - buy a Dell, simple as that.
I used to repair laptops on a regular basis, Dells are a well built machine, and when you buy a decent spec, you'll pay the price, but more often than not they have great performance, and you don't get alot of the common issues with many other laptops ie cracking plastics, in particular on the back of the laptop lid!
If your interested in one with a decent graphics card, check the XPS range, i peronsally own an XPS, its a solid robust bit of kit, and its had some hard work through its time, and it runs flawless still to this day, the one i have in question is an XPS M170 Gen 2, though its abit bigger than your adverage laptop due to its 17" widescreen, you can also get some very nifty small XPS machines with top spec components at fair prices.
Alot of laptops now days are built on the cheap, and that is reflected after a year or so worth of use.
Of course i can't force anyone to buy a Dell, but i'd extremelly recommend it, of course if you do buy one, buy a reasonable spec machine to start with.

Dell laptop is a all right board, but...
sometime their warranty service can be a hoot.
If you are after the security and mobile using ( words, emails internets, just little games )
You can grab the new IBM ThinkPad laptops.

One thing I'll say is this: don't get a Fujitsu Siemens. My dad has one and over the time he's had it, it's been gradually destroying itself. I've tried all sorts of things, reformatting, registry cleanups/repair, defragment, but none of it worked. The two most annoying things at the moment are the PCMCIA slot probably doesn't work properly, as the WiFi card randomly disconnects (It has built in 802.11b but I can't get it to work) and when he closes the lid, instead of going on standby, it just sits there on the "preparing to stand by" screen and never actually does stand by, 90% of the time. Also it must have absolutely terrible cooling as there are quite often artifacts on the screen even when he's just browsing the web. Oh, and there was a dead pixel not long after he bought it.

Well I would recommend Acer or Dell.... Acer's 4520(Amd Processor),acer 4720 (intel core2duo),dell 1420(intel core2duo) and Dell 1525(intel core2duo).....Although except 1525 which is 15.4''display,all of them are 14.1'' display ..
I have kinda always been jittery about Hp laptops as they seem to be working fine till some problem crops up and then it somehow fails to regain its original touch as in some or d oder problem keeps cumin in.

Good call, Sam, when scrolling through an individual forum, check the dates when you start getting further down, otherwise it could be several months old like this one.
It's a newbie mistake and I have done it myself in the past so don't worry about it too much, just keep an eye out.
