I've been trying to download "New Updates Available" from Microsoft for months and they keep failing to load, instead giving me an error message.
I'm running Windows Vista (wife's laptop) and I use FireFox as my browser. I read somewhere where the browser might be the problem, but I'm not sure.
When I google the updates in question it seems that there are many problems around this particular update.
Is there a particular site that I can go to to manually download these updates?

Here's some ore info. on the updates in question. The error code is "646".
The updates that fail to download are "Security Updates" for Office Systems.
They are:
KB976321
KB980729
KB981715

Nevermind.......in the process of writing this second post I finally found a site which had manual downloads for all three updates. This is ironic because I've been searching for these for months.
Just goes to show you....good things happen when I come to Tech Support for answers.

I know windows update will be downloaded only with Internet Explorer only. I know you also don't like IE but this time you have no choice

You are correct. I don't like IE but could use it just to download updates I guess. I have not tried it yet. I normally go to the download site and download them manually which is pretty easy. I will try doing it with IE next time.

I tried it but not joy. how do you do that in download .com?
