Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2 Update

I've been having problems with this update for some time now... the Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2. I do have Microsoft Office 2003.

It's been in my queue to install for a while now (it downloaded via Windows Updates), and whenever I install it it starts a little while and then stops, giving me the message of 'The following updates were not installed: Office 2003 Service Pack 2'.

Has anyone else had this problem? Or anyone else know of a remedy to fix it? Or take it out of Windows updates?

Are you running sp2 or 3 please?

try this please

1. Download one of the two .exe files by using the links at the bottom of the page, and then save the file to your hard disk drive.
* Office2003SP2-kb887616-client-enu.exe: You should download this file if you have access to your original product CD-ROM. You might need to provide the installation source during patch installation if you have previously updated your product.
* Office2003SP2-kb887616-fullfile-enu.exe: Download this file if you do not have access to your original product CD-ROM or if you have experienced problems installing the Office2003SP2-kb887616-client-enu.exe file.
2. It is recommended that you quit any programs you are running.

3. In Windows Explorer, double-click the .exe file that you saved to your hard disk drive, and follow the instructions on the screen.

Office2003SP2-KB887616-Client-ENU.exe: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...Client-ENU.exe

Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU.exe:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...llFile-ENU.exe

I'm running SP3... it did the same thing under SP2. I'm downloading the second one. I'll see what happens.

When you cancel an Office 2003 installation, not all registry entries are removed
there is a fix but you need the cd to reinstall

Have you thought about using open office ??

Yeah, but it was just removing the Windows Update of Microsoft Office was the big thing. I really don't use office that much since I graduated.

Problem fixed though.
