A P2P program is one that lets you download files from other people who have the whole or part of the file, effectively "sharing". P2P stands for peer to peer, because of the way that the files are shared between people. They are mostly used for illegal downloading of films, music etc and pretty much anything copyrighted that you would normally have to pay for.
