Try skipping the "Credit card" information and see what happens.
If you still can't sign up, I'll contact Microsoft for you and ask them about it.

There is no way of skiping the "Credit Card" information.

Why do you need to give payment things if its free? If you have to pay some pretty good false advertising.

That sounds pretty interesting apart from having to put credit card information in. I suppose it's just to check you are who you say you are.
I'd like to know why they want that info as well, though.

I know this isn't quite the same - but encase it helps, there are many websites which offer free domain names, with minimal asked in return.
My favorite is Free URL Redirection, No Ads! Short Free Domain Name (you.co.nr) |
