I always get confused by this sort of thing, but if your price doesn't include VAT (I'm guessing that's why you put + VAT on ) it's £234.97 inclusive of our wonderful 17.5% tax.

I bought my iPod on ebay and it's never let me down Well, it's crashed a couple of times, but other than that. 3rd gen iPods look amazing IMHO. Classic styling.

Hi Davaskater - it seems to be one of those things about the IT trade - we always quote prices excluding VAT. Still really expensive compared to the US - or anywhere else for that matter!

Ok then, even if it does seem a bit weird

I agree about the price of stuff mate. Sometimes when stuff is shipped over here they just change the $ sign to a £ sign so $50 becomes £50 and not £30 (allowing a bit for shipping and that) which never helps our wallets.

17.5%

We don't pay a sales tax for online purchases if it is out of state

Everything we buy over here has 17.5% VAT (Value Added Tax) on it, the only way you can get away from it is be on a couple of the small islands between UK and France, known as the Channel Islands.

I don't pay tax at all. Really nice actually. It comes in handy when ordering allot from newegg.

I find you pay more for the name IPod than you do for the actually MP3 player. There isn't much difference, like maybe $20 or less. But it seems you pay more for the bigger name brands.

Think 17.5% is bad? 25% on everything I buy over here.

That's a bit steep, mate.

I'm guessing that's the equivalent of VAT over there.
