Thanks Jason - I would tend to look at that in the same way as you look at AV software, I think!

It monitors what is running on your system and alerts you to changes, very handy. You can use it to terminate and delete processes and stuff. WinPatrol will alert you to hijackings, malware attacks and critical changes made to your computer without your permission.

There are a few users here who frequently don't run an antivirus. The PC I'm on now has Avast but I keep it turned off almost all of the time. Unless I start downloading or using StumbleUpon it never runs. WinPatrol is active all of the time though. I'm pretty sure Howard doesn't use one either...

I have AVG8 but admit to having it turned off while i find out whats wrong with my pooter
