[SOLVED] Outlook .pst file corrupt = outlook won't start

My outlook.pst file is corrupt and the application seems unable to fix it. There is reference to an inbox repair tool but I cannot find anywhere.

Anyone any ideas? I have tried the following:
A fresh install of Outlook - no good
Importing the data into another newer copy of Outlook - no good.
I was wondering if there is a repair tool out there somwhere.

cheers

Cheers Howard - running it now.
Have you ever heard of Outlook 98 (not 97 or 2000)?
Also have you ever heard of outlook going all limp and useless if the data (.pst) file exceeds 2Gb?
cheers

Yes, I've heard of Outlook 98 and it was the second version of Outlook, introduced in March 1998 as a free download, later maintained as a free upgrade for registered Outlook 97 users and finally withdrawn from web download just before the release of Outlook 2000 in June 1999.

Cheers Jason - that explains where this edition came from. It's also good to know that Howard didn't know of it either! Makes me feel a little less pig ignorant.

Just to let you all know that the tool recommended by Howard has worked a treat and the database content is now visible. Cheers!
I'll close the thread on that happy note.
