Computer slowing down arghness

Hi i have noticed that my computer had been running quite pathetically the past month, everytime i log on to windows AVG,ATI,and my realtek driver would come up, then i would usually have to wait for about 2 minutes for the internet connection icon to come up. During these 2 mins i can still go on the internet but everything is very slow. After this i can get on the internet perfectly without any problems

I also noticed that about 60% of youtube videos i watch freeze and i can only hear the sound playing although fully buffered. Another thing which i found damn annoying is on some occasions when i'm typing the cursor just disappears and everything that i type would affect the window that i'm on, like typing backspace would send the page back to the previous one.

I can't figure out what the problem is, i have ccleaner,AVG and registry fix,i use these everyday before turning my computer off, i also defragmented the comp. Any ideas guys?

I wouldnt use a reg cleaner as you can do more harm than good

As for you You tube problem try this

Download the uninstallers for Flash and shockwave players and then reinstall both of them

Adobe - Adobe Flash Player
Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player

Have you run antivirus and antimalware scans recently? If so, with what software?

Hi Scippi - getting answers fired at you from all angles: when you have a second, check the number of running processes you have (task manager, bottom left hand corner). After boot but before doing anything else it should be around the 50 mark. Also click on the performance tab and tell us about the physical memory values (3 of them)
cheers

Thats OK - now we need to see what is keeping the thing busy.
Two steps
First, reboot the machine and open task manager at once - go to the processes tab and then click on the CPU column twice - this should set the process that uses all the resources at the top - what is it? (system idle process is OK - don't need that)

right after loggging on to windows, i ctrl alt delete there were 42 processes running, the largest
one was AVG which was 54k and my cpu usage went up to around 50-55% ish , then when the internet icon and the abit EQ came up, it dropped to 2% and everything was ok
