Captions

I was very curious, does anyone know of a program or software that if you play any kind of video with that it will create the captions for it? Kind of like on TV, when you hit the caption button on your remote it will show the caption on the screen of what is being said by whoever on that channel on the show or movie. I am very curious if anyone knows of a program that does that? I'm asking this because of a video that I need to watch for school but I am having trouble listening and catching everything that is being said on the video. So I was hoping maybe there is a program out there that I can use that will supply captions for the video... I would highly appreciate any input on this!! Thanks...

Hi, CJ

I don't know of such a program, but if he doesn't see this thread, you could try PMing CCM who is hearing impaired and whom may know of such a program, or have links to videos (and perhaps the one you need) with captions.

Well I didn't really think about that, duh me! ha, I will definitely have to hit him up. I don't think this video is online somewhere with captions already added, which is why I'm hopefully able to find a program that makes the captions automatically... I doubt it, but I'm "hoping".. lol

Anyway, thanks!

Hello CJ, there is no such software, that I am aware of, that will do what you expect. Subtitles or captions can be displayed in a video only if someone has added them already. Therefore, if you need the subtitles, you will have to first write them down and then add them to the video.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
