Question [SOLVED] Adobe -- Acroread.msi missing

I installed the latest PSI version and it informed that Adobe Reader 8.1.2 was outdated and I should install 8.1.3. So I used PSI to dpwnload the solution (newer version), when the install began I was told that the path to Acroread.msi was invalid. I did a search and located the file. Pointed to it but was then told that it was not a valid file for 8.1.3. So I went to Adobe and it says the latest version is 9.0 so I downloaded that and got the exact same results.

So by now I am totally bewildered/befuddled/confused/fed up.

Any thoughts/help/suggestions? As always thank you in advance.

Use this to uninstall
Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download

use moderate settings and clear it all out of your system

I used Revo to uninstall, however, it found 1912 registry keys and I just didn't have the guts to let it uninstall completely like I normally would. By the way the Adobe uninstaller (that Revo invokes) also complains about this missing file.

Do you think it is safe to let Revo delete all those keys (plus a whole batch of files)? Also, would you go to the 8.1.3 or the other one from Adobe called 9.0?

Ah, that seems to have done the trick. I now have 8.1.3 installed. Only one thing -- when I look at control panel add/remove programs it shows 8.1.3 BUT it still shows 8.1.2 (with 0 size and a security update which says it cannot be removed) -- (just an irritant). Is it safe to tell PSI to just ignore a program (since it's not REALLY there)?

Flash is notorious for leaving left overs when updating.

Use the How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control for a clean uninstall of Adobe/Flash.

Revo shows 8.1.3 -- 8.1.2 appears to be gone except in add/remove programs.
