These are my settings, re ticked items. Can anyone advise about the unticked items, and whether it is advisable to include some of these when using this software?
Oldie

Oldie tick the advanced box and you will get pop ups telling you what each one does

I recommend you tick all boxes, except for the old prefetch data.
See HERE for info on prefetch.

I have to disagree with leaving the Hotfix uninstallers ticked all of the time. If you get a Windows update that causes problems you won't be able to uninstall it if you have run CCleaner.
Speaking of....there is a new version. CCleaner Slim (No Toolbar) 2.12.660

To be honest Oldie i wouldn't touch the advanced features unless you have a specific problem that they can help with
Only my opinion

I agree. I have never had them checked other than seeing what it is they do. Nothing in that area is going to collect much junk that needs cleaned with the exception of the prefetch but as Howard stated that isn't good to clean on a regular basis.
For a good scrubbing, once a month or so, use ATF Cleaner or Wise Disk Cleaner |

But as you previously stated EF,leave the prefetch unticked also in ATF or is a once a month clean ok cleaning the prefetch??
