4 On Demand Program Not Working

Well, I recently downloaded the 4oD program from there 4oD website. Had no troubles installing it or anything, although I did have to download the latest version of Windows Media Player (11) on the way and another thing.

Anyway, I clicked stream and watch a show on 4oD, and it comes up with a little box saying:

We have detected a problem with your Digital Right Management (DRM) store files. Click Continue for instructions on how to fix the problem.

So i click continue, and it takes me to the following web page: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...drm.mspx#q11_4

I'm using Windows Media Player 11, so i click the link Windows Media Player 11 link. It then tells me how to resolve my problem. I followed all of the steps and completed them, but when it told me to delete all of the files in that folder, I did so, but one of them would not delete, it is named "(Default)" and the type of the file is RED_SZ and the data of the file is (value not set). When i try to delete that file, it says "unable to delete all specified values."

So, I'm not sure if i actually have to delete that file or what.. I just want to be able to watch shows on the 4oD program. I have followed all of the steps (except the ones stated below) and the little box still comes up with the same message.

PS - I don't think i have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, so i did not follow that step.

Could someone let me know what I've got to do, to get the problem fixed?

Please reply as soon as possible.

Sorry, I don't know myself, but there are lots of things on google about it, I googled '4oD not working DRM' and quite a lot came up.

Hmmm, unfortunately none of those links provide me with a solution.

Hopefully someone else here can help.

I had exactly the same problem mate. I gave up on it eventually and just uninstalled the program and the Kontiki thing it puts on as well (I think that's the right spelling).

What they don't tell you on the TV and on the site is that it's beta software, and yet they advertise it so much, not mentioning it at all.

One of my friends had a problem with it and emailed them about it and eventually got it to work, I'll ask him about it next time he's online (should be tomorrow or Monday night - if not I'll ring him hehe) and see if we can get this going for you.

Yer, I've been looking over the Channel 4 forums, and it is flooded with problems with the 4oD program. I couldn't spot anyone with my problem though.

But, i have fixed it now anyway. I re-installed 4oD, and it still didn't work so i re-installed Windows Media Player 11, and now it works. Not sure why, but hey, it works and I'm not complaining lol.

Thank anyway though. Just been watching shameless, lol.

Well done. It's unusual with the WM11 thing but at least it works now

I saw loads of people with problems similar on forums but no solution.
