VNC - Remote Access, Support, Control

VNC is an excellent program for remote access, support, controller.

http://www.realvnc.com/

The free edition covers all of the basics you would need and then you get the option of using the 'personal' and 'enterprise' editions. This is a very useful ad free simple program.

Configure the server side application and client side application and away you go. The install package and running packages (once installed) are very small and have little to no impact on the general day to day running of workstations.

The free edition provides basic password authentication and then as you progress through the additions (if you wish to) you get the option of NT Authentication and encryption support.

I rather like your last find, crossloop.

The noteable differences between Crossloop and VNC are that:

- Crossloop requires an end user input of a 12 digit code every time on both client and supporter end.
- VNC Authenticates via a password or NT Authentication instantly.

- Crossloop tends to lag whereas VNC provides greater display control.

- VNC provides better and instant support for network display/direct remote access via the internet.
- Connection via Crossloop is slower and off the top of my head I believe it also feeds via the Crossloop server opposed to one-to-one.

But definately in the view of providing on workgroup/domain control and remote support to multiple people VNC outweighs Crossloop.

I found Crossloop really useful back when I start using it but now I'm using VNC I find it so much easier than having to type in 12 digit codes and waiting for a slow connection when VNC really is so instantaneous.
