Lavasoft confirms negotiations to bundle Ask Toolbar

For anyone wondering Lavasoft owns Ad-Aware.

Lavasoft confirmed in a lengthy post that it is in negotiations with IAC to bundle the Ask Toolbar. The rationalization for Lavasoft is that by doing this bundle, they have the opportunity to work with IAC in making real change in toolbar distribution. This would ostensibly benefit the community.

I've seen a few bundled toolbars around lately. Never used them though.

My concern/issue with this is that in my eyes security tools should never have anything bundles with them. especially toolbars. Spy Sweeper did the same thing a few months back.

I agree mate, security programs shouldn't bundle things, certainly not toolbars.

I never use toolbars that come bundled with software because they'd install to IE, plus I don't want toolbars, I'm fine as I am, thank you
