MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM)

There is a free version of this new tool. It does not include the real time protection (not sure on auto updates in the free) but that is OK as the on demand scanner itself is worth having. All functions work and it even saves a log for analysis. Don't be fooled by the speed in which it scans. As I have said I was along for the Beta testing and it is an exceptional tool. Enjoy.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop use either of these two links.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location such as the desktop.
  • Copy and Paste that log into your next reply.
The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt

Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt

There is an entry that can be added to the CCleanerwinapp2.ini that will add MBAM to the cleaning options under the Applications tab in CCleaner so the log files will not build up.

If you don't have the CCleaner winapp2.ini go HERE to see the directions on adding it and the MBAM entry.
